Gold Canyon Ranch was a favorite of Teddy Roosevelt at the beginning of the 20th century. It was a working cattle ranch at the foot of the southeastern region of the Superstition Mountains, and Teddy loved riding and hiking in the Superstitions. His love for the area ultimately resulted his successful support for the construction of the Roosevelt Dam, which provides several wonderful recreation lakes and hydroelectric power for the area. In the 1980s Dinamount Development Corp. built the renown Gold Canyon Golf Resort, home to two of Arizona s most notable golf courses, The Dinosaur Mountain Course (Arizona's #1 public golf course) and the challenging Sidewinder Course.
The first homes in MountainBrook Village were constructed in 1989. The MountainBrook Golf Course became the third golf course bordered by MountainBrook homes. Construction was finished in 2002 by Shea Homes, completing the 1,659 homes in our development.
Gold Canyon attracts residents from all over the world who call this unincorporated piece of Pinal County home. Over 10,000 people live in the area and love having the historic Superstition Mountains in their back yard.
